The 5K course is USATF certified (NC-08075-PH) and is an out and back that goes over a fairly long bridge at the 1.5-mile point. It's scenic and fun but has a little bite to it. There is one water stop.

Open, Masters, and Grand Masters M/F ovrall winners in the 5K receive running shoes courtesy of New Balance of Wilmington. The exact Mid-Pack M/F finisher (LOCAL RUNNERS ONLY as determined by the Race Director) in the 5K will each receive a free 1-year membership to Golds Gyms of the Carolinas. We offer this award so that us mid-packers have a chance to receive a nice prize for a change.
