Volunteers
Carolina Sports Medicine Battleship North Carolina Half Marathon and Bay Six Battleship 5K Date: Sunday, November 1, 2009 Click here to view Overall and Individual Results! The race could not happen without our great volunteers. If you are not participating as a runner or walker, join the race by volunteering and helping to make our event great for the runners and for out beautiful city. I guarantee you will have fun.All volunteers will receive a coveted volunteer t-shirt and will be an indespensible part of putting on the race and raising money for many local charities. If an organization or group will provide several volunteers, we will donate an agreed upon amount of money to your organization in exchange for volunteer support. We need volunteers on Sunday mostly with a few on Saturday. The time frame required is somewhere between an hour and a half up to four hours, depending on your job and personal time constraints. Last year we donted over $3,000 to groups that helped put on the race such as the Cape Fear Literacy Council, Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Vietnam Veterans of America, as well as several other fine organizations. We also had community service groups such as the Hoggard HS Beta Club and Ashley HS soccer team helping with the race to obtain required community service hours.
