01. Can I park at the ship?
  Yes, but parking is limited and is allowed only in designated parking spaces – period. Take the river taxi or buses if at all possible. If you park on the road or out of parking spaces we will have your vehicle towed at your expense or possible pushed it into the river if time is short. DO NOT PARK OUT OF DESIGNATED SPACES. The access road to the parking lot and Battleship Memorial closes at 7:30 AM race day and remains closed until 9:00 AM. Also, if the parking lot gets full you will be turned away no matter what time it is.

02. How many water stops?
  Six water stops are located at approximately 2-mile intervals. with an extra stop at the Navel and Marine Corps Reserve Center at the 8.7-Mile point. Porta Potties will also be at this water stop.

03. Are there bathrooms on the course?
  Yes. We will place Porta Johns at the 8.7-mile point on the Greenfield Lake portion of the course. Also, there are public restrooms located at the 5-mile and 10-mile points as you enter and leave Greenfield Lake. Ask the volunteers for directions to the restrooms. The restrooms are located approximately 50 yards off the course.

04. Is food provided on the course?
  Not as such – each water stop is manned by a business and each business may choose to supply something but do not count on it. Bring your own Hammer Gels or whatever. Each water stop will have Gotorade and water.

05. Is there an aid station?
  No, there will be an aid station at the Battleship but not on the course. If you have trouble on the course and need help, tell a volunteer and they will call an ambulance on their cell phone.

06. Are headphones allowed?
  Yes, but this is a safety factor and YOU are responsible for your own safety.

07. Are walkers allowed?
  Yes, walkers are more than welcome. Walkers leave at 7:00 am and must complete the course in 4 hours – that is by 11:00 am. SAFETY CONCERN – there will no course control until 8:00 am on the course so be totally aware of where you are and be very careful. If you are walking at slower than a 4-hour pace do not expect the water stops to be in service when you get there. You must know your route, wear your number, and get the race done in 4 hours. We will have a specific set of written directions and information packet for walkers. Ask at the Expo for this information or on race morning before you leave at 7:00 AM. WALKERS MUCH WEAR A TIMING CHIP and must mark on the race entry form (online or hard copy) that you are a walker. Please cross over the timing mat when you start so that you can get an official time.

08. Are baby joggers allowed?
  No.

09. Is there Race Day Registration?
  Yes, from 6am until 7:30 am AT THE BATTLESHIP In the auditorium. Take the ramp to the left of the stairs up to the main entrance of the Memorial. Register inside the auditorium, then  PICK UP YOUR TIMING CHIP AT THE GAZEBO NEAR THE RIVER IN THE GRASS AREA.

10. Is there shuttle bus service to the race?
  Yes, there are buses but you can take the River Taxi from the municipal Dock 100 meters South of the Hilton on Water Street. The river taxi runs from 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM and is free. Runners ride first if there is a line.

11. Is there sports drink at the water stops?
  Yes. Gatorade will be provided at all water stops as well as water courtesy of LeBleu of Wilmington.

12. Can spectators ride the river taxi?
  Yes, but all runners go first. Also, the Captain has total control over the boat – when the boat departs, who rides and so forth. He is piloting a boat in inter-coastal waters and has serious legal powers and responsibilities. Do not mess with the Captain.
